Summary:

We are currently looking for a resourceful, self-motivated, and creative individual to join us on a project-basis to complete a variety of development tasks. This role is a Web Developer position, responsible for creation and maintenance of websites, as well as the creation and maintenance of new functionality for a variety of client web applications.

This is a contract position, where work will be divided on a project-to-project basis. We are looking for an experienced person who can commit at least 16 hours per week to us, with the potential for a full-time role for the right candidate after our current roadmap is complete.

The chosen candidate will have the option of remote work or working during business hours from our Dundas (West Hamilton) office. Preference will be given to local candidates

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Loves creating awesome interfaces, and is fluent in front-end development tasks using the standard stuff like: HTML, CSS, and JS
  • Enjoys solving complex problems by writing efficient, scalable and readable code when performing back-end/application development tasks in a LAMP stack environment
  • Complete development tasks in local environment, test and deploy using GIT
  • Slices and manipulates Photoshop documents and other art assets for development use as needed
  • Utilizes best practices in order to minimize cross-browser/platform rendering issues
  • Passionately follows the latest technology with a keen eye for emerging platforms
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and assignments

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Fluent in HTML, CSS, JS and PHP/MySQL in a LAMP environment using GIT
  • Experience with WordPress is essential
  • Ability to work independently a must
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop
  • Excellent working knowledge of cross-platform browser support a plus

Additional Information:

  • Applicant must be willing to participate in a test project during the interview process
  • Compensation will be based on experience and competency, starting at $50/hr
