We are looking for a full stack WordPress lead to enhance BrightTALK’s Summits (our world-class online events for business professionals) and further develop / integrate plugins and additional WordPress assets. These enhancements will result in increased viewership, engagement and sponsorship revenue.  We’re looking for a leader to work in tandem with a Product Owner in San Francisco to architect, implement, build and support a new, high quality, high performance web-based experience.

This leadership position will be responsible for leveraging the existing WordPress infrastructure in addition to laying the foundation to support new initiatives. You will work in parallel with the other San Francisco and UK-based engineering teams but will have your own projects requiring collaboration as well as independent work.

An ideal candidate would have 5 years plus WordPress development experience and understand WordPress core, the plugin architecture and theming.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

Demonstrated significant experience architecting, developing and supporting web content management systems over the longer term
Solid understanding of WordPress standards, database structure, themes, widgets and responsive mobile development
WordPress plugin integration and development
Experience with GIT or any other version control systems
Full-stack development experience with the following technologies: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, PHP, SQL
Knowledge of web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Custom Search) and related analyses
Ability to design and manage relational databases
Ability to design and implement web services
Successful delivery of at least 5 projects
Experience working with teams that are not co-located
Experience with BuddyPress or other social plugins
Education

Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience
