The Center for Global Economic and Environmental Opportunity (GEEO) is currently looking for a WordPress Developer. This position requires an undergraduate’s degree, master’s degree in computer programming, computer science, engineering or a related field with strong WordPress experience to customize the appearance and the functionality of the GEEO East Central Florida regional interactive dashboard website to the GEEO website WordPress platform. The dashboard will monitor the performance of SDG indicators, that are statistics used to measure social equity, economic growth, institutional capacity, and environmental protection to ascertain the different dimensions and levels of sustainable development.

Preferred Qualifications
Strong knowledge of the WordPress platform
Development experience building plugins, themes, templates, custom fields, multisite, integrations, and caching implementations
1+ years of professional experience working with and staying current in the latest advances in web technologies, highly preferred
Undergraduate degree or master’s degree in Digital Media, Computer Science, Engineering or related technical discipline
Analyze problems and help create innovative solutions involving technology, methodology, tool, and solution components
Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
Good understanding of Jekyll, React and Next.js
Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery
Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
Strong understanding of back-end development (PHP, MySQL)
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git, SVN, or Mercurial
Experience building/optimizing RESTful APIs, APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
Extensive experience with code versioning tools like GitHub
Experience building user interfaces for websites and/or web applications
Analyze problems and help create innovative solutions involving technology, methodology, tool, and solution components
Ability to meet deadlines with excellent time management skills
Detail oriented with excellent communication skills
Salary
Position pays $20-25 per hour, for up to 20 hours per week, through February, March, April 2022. Position may be extended, based on the needs of the center.
