WordPress Developer

CoLab is seeking an organized, enthusiastic and quick-to-learn individual to develop and build WordPress sites that and help us continually evolve our do-good tech cooperative so we can help more people!  We are a worker-owned cooperative, a close-knit group who are exploring a new way to do business: one based on cooperation, collaboration and a high-integrity desire to shape a better world. EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-4 years experience developing WordPress sites
  • Ability to translate visual comps into pixel-perfect modern, responsive, and semantic HTML & CSS
  • Integrate dynamic content into sites using JQuery and JQuery extensions
  • Research optimal solutions for problems faced by our clients
  • Available and ‘on call’ when needed per contractor agreement/ project needs
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self starter
  • Team player (you’ll be part of the Delivery Team and work closely with PMs, designers and other developers)
  • Strong professional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Interest in highly collaborative environment
  • Driven to make the world better for everyone
  • Experience with time tracking and invoicing systems
  • Ability to interface with clients
  • Ability to manage and communicate timelines, scope and budget

OTHER THINGS THAT ARE HELPFUL

  • Experience working in a remote, distributed team is a bonus
  • Experience participating in team development processes and scrums
  • Technical knowledge related to web and mobile application development
  • Fully comfortable using GIT and the git-flow methodology
  • Familiarity with Jira, Trello, Google Apps, HipChat, and Freshbooks software a plus
  • Appreciation of simple beauty and clean code a big plus

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Help with documenting project requirements
  • Ability to support and help with QA as needed
  • Attend project meetings to update project status with Project Manager

TIME COMMITMENT

  • Project based
  • 15-20 hours a week to start
